There is beauty in everything

I think everyone goes through periods of “nothingness”. But that in itself is not a bad thing. It is okay to have nothing. Still, my mind was preoccupied with the feeling of lacking motivation, inspiration and productivity.

I was attached to the ego’s idea that if I am an artist, I should always be producing something to show that I am creative. Or to prove that loving what I do doesn’t make it a hobby. I was anxious that I had nothing. This went on for a couple of years.

When I reviewed my paintings, I realized that I found beauty in everything, even in the most ordinary of subjects. And many are an unconscious reflection of spiritual and philosophical themes in my blog, Suchness. My blog helped me realize that I have been inspired and productive all along. New works were simply incubating. Below are a few recent paintings; however, not all of them are included in the show.
